What $99 covers

One chimney, one flat price

The NFPA 211 standard calls for chimneys, fireplaces and vents to be inspected at least once a year. Here is everything in the sweep, and exactly what is not part of it.

What a creosote-glazed flue looks like

Drag the handle. On the left, a clay flue liner glazed with creosote. On the right, the same flue swept clean. Creosote is combustible, which is why it should not be left to build up.

Good to know

Questions, answered

What if you find a problem?
You'll see it before anything happens. If the sweep turns up damage to the liner, crown or cap, the tech shows you photos, explains it in plain English and gives you a price. Nothing is repaired without your OK, and your $99 sweep is still complete.
Will it make a mess?
No. The tech lays drop cloths in front of the fireplace and runs a HEPA vacuum while sweeping, so soot stays out of your living room.
How often should a chimney be swept?
The NFPA 211 standard calls for chimneys, fireplaces and vents to be inspected at least once a year. Creosote, a combustible byproduct of burning wood, builds up inside the flue as you use it, so a yearly sweep before the first fire is a good habit.
Do I pay anything online?
No. Booking asks for your name, mobile, email and address, never a card. Nothing is charged online.
How long does it take?
Plan on about an hour for one chimney. If the tech finds something that needs a closer look it can take longer, and you'll know why. You book a 2-hour arrival window, so you know when to expect us.
Is the $99 per chimney?
Yes. $99 covers one chimney, meaning one flue. If your home has more than one, book one visit, then call (850) 750-5465 and we'll confirm the price before the visit.
Do I need to be home?
Yes, please. Part of the work happens inside at the fireplace, and the tech will go over the photos and condition notes with you before leaving.
Are you licensed?
Yes. Service Masters is a licensed Florida HVAC contractor, license number CAC1820154.
